Jason Bulla is a freelance photographer based in Denver, Colorado.
Photography has been a lifelong process of exploration and evolution that first began upon finding an old Polaroid Land Camera, from the 1950’s, stored away in the family attic.
The images captured with the Land Camera, by Jason’s father, in their monochrome format, left such an impression that they still serve as inspiration for the work Jason creates today.
Jason’s photography is also influenced by his twenty-three years of practice in the Japanese martial art of Aikido; an art that seeks to study the concept of kinetic energy within the self and as it occurs between individuals.
Through the art form of photography, Jason continues to study that expressive exchange of energy, as he seeks to explore and document the human experience: within stunning landscapes, expressive portraits, and dynamic performances - in the hopes of capturing those intimate and emotional moments that binds us all together.
Originally from Niles, Ohio, Jason is a graduate of the Ohio State University - B.A. Humanities (Italian).
